Family safaris in Kenya are well catered for and generally come under the tailor-made safaris bracket. Travelling as a family can often be very expensive as it is down to one individual (or couple) to pay for everyone which is not always the most feasible option. A safari for a child is a huge adventure and therefore planning it properly is essential in order that it is both relaxing, fun and also educational. For this reason small things like taking games (nintendos, books, puzzles, etc) for the middle of the day are essential; most activities are during the early morning hours and later afternoon and therefore it is important children are also occupied during the middle of the day.

This is important to reassure both the parents and children throughout the safari.
